| 6 heats total. Crowns decided inside the Final by ranking ducklings vs ducks separately on the same scorecard. The cheerleader (1) doesn't surf — they anchor the cheer squad & the Best Cheer Squad award. Full draw on the separate heat-schedule sheet. | ||
Notes for the day
- Surf check by 10:00 — confirm go/no-go. If surf is too big, drop to Duckling-only and shorten heats — Andras makes the call on the morning.
- Mid-event break matters. 4.5 hours is long for little kids — food, dry layer, unstructured play, or the second half falls apart.
- Water marshals rotate every hour. Bench the burnt-out marshal during the break.
- Photographer covers every heat. One hero shot per kid is the goal.
- Bonfire from 18:00. Someone owns the firewood run; keep the fire well back from boards and bags, a water bucket within reach, and douse it fully before the last family leaves. Sunset is ~17:50 — light it as the awards wrap.
