Parent / guardian liability waiver
I confirm that I am the parent or legal guardian of the child named below, and that I am voluntarily registering them to participate in the Sunset Duckies Cup ("the event"), a kids' surf competition organised by the Sunset Duckies surf club at Tamarin Bay on Saturday 30 May 2026, between 13:00 and 17:30.
I acknowledge that:
- Surfing is a physical activity that carries an inherent risk of injury, including from waves, rocks, board contact, marine life, sun exposure, and other ocean conditions.
- The event is run by volunteer coaches and parents. Reasonable safety measures are taken (water marshals, beach marshal, first-aid kit on site), but participation remains at our own risk.
- My child has the basic ability to be safe in the water as agreed with the head coach, and can swim unassisted in waist-deep water.
- I will remain on-site for the full duration of the event. This is not a drop-off.
- The organisers may take reasonable medical decisions in an emergency if I cannot be reached immediately.
I agree to:
- Release the volunteer organisers, coaches, judges, and Sunset Duckies from any claim arising from ordinary risks of the event.
- Follow all instructions from the coaches, water marshals, and beach marshal on the day.
- Inform the registration desk of any medical condition, allergy, or medication relevant to my child.
Photo & video
I consent to photos and short videos of my child being used on Sunset Duckies social channels and recap posts.
I do not consent — please blur or exclude my child from any posted media.
